Liquid ferric chloride is an efficient and cheap flocculant for the treatment of urban sewage and industrial wastewater. It has the effects of significant precipitation of heavy metals and sulfides, decolorization, deodorization, oil removal, sterilization, phosphorus removal, and reduction of COD and BOD in effluent.
