What is PolyDADMAC?

PolyDADMAC is used as a coagulant in water purification. It is effective in coagulating and flocculating inorganic and organic particles such as silt, clay, algae, bacteria and viruses. At high concentrations the organic polymer can remove natural organic matter such as humic and fulvic acids resulting in fewer disinfection byproduct precursors and less color.
Sewage Treatment
In the field of sewage treatment, PolyDADMAC performs remarkably. In the treatment of papermaking wastewater, it can efficiently flocculate suspended substances such as fibers and fillers, making the wastewater quickly clarified. When treating printing and dyeing wastewater, it can combine with dye molecules, break their chromophores, and effectively remove the color, thus simplifying the treatment of printing and dyeing wastewater. Moreover, compared with traditional flocculants, it requires a smaller dosage but achieves better results, which can significantly reduce the treatment cost.
Oil Exploration
In addition to sewage treatment, in oil extraction, it can be used as an additive for drilling fluids to improve the stability of the drilling fluids and their ability to carry sand, ensuring the smooth progress of the extraction.
Papermaking Industry
In the papermaking industry, it can enhance the strength of paper and improve the formation of paper. PolyDADMAC is used for controlling disturbing substances in the papermaking process. It provides superior fixing of pitch from mechanical pulp and of latex from coated broke. Used in the short circulation of a paper mill to enhance retention and dewatering. In addition, it can be used to improve the efficiency of disk filters and flotators, and for cationization of fillers to provide maximal filler retention.
